Product Description

The CAST IRON RODS NON MACHINABLE FONWELD E-117 4.0MM are specially designed welding electrodes for the repair and welding of cast-iron components. FONWELD E117 features a steel wire core and special coating, producing a weld deposit that is non-machinable and intended to be finished by grinding. It is particularly suitable for repairing dirty or corroded cast iron and filling cavities in castings where the repaired area is not subject to significant mechanical loading.

The 4.0mm diameter is suitable for larger cast-iron repair and filling applications. The manufacturer specifies a 120–140 amp welding current range for the 4.0mm × 450mm electrode, using DCEP current.
